You only get to hear the first 15 seconds of each tune and it alternates all the time, driving me insane.

Lol, that's exactly WHY I have the music on. I like the musical cues for what's happening (as in movies). At the risk of repeating myself, when I really want to listen to music I don't do it on my PC.

I don't. I never have any music running - just sound effects. The crappy laptop I'm, using 'til I get my new machine can't handle anything more.

Vanquishing/mapping is very boring at times

When I first play games I'll usually enjoy the music. But when I've been investing a lot of time into the game, and seeing little variation, I'll find myself opening my own music library.
It doesn't help that I really don't like the music in GW:EN. Waaay to floaty, and the sudden switches to combat music (which happens about every 20 seconds) really kills the atmosphere for me.

I think the best ever soundtrack created for a game was from gothic 3 the soundtrack itself too 2 years to develop and the them of the song had famous artists creating songs based on the tune of this soundtrack.
I listen to this soundtrack instead of guild wars music because it is just so much better in my opinion

I greatly prefer GW's music to anything contemporary I might have on my computer.

I really liked Nightfall's intro music on the character select screen. I alternate, sometimes gw music, sometimes rl music.

Have all the soundtracks on my iPod. Mainly to play while driving ^_^ But I do also still have it on ingame. The music that plays in LA for example is really nice.

While playing GW 80% of the time I'm on Skype, so I keep my sound effects on but my music off usually. I like to listen to the skills =o It helps! Lol especially in pvp. I love the music in pre sear I always listen to it then. But yeah unless I'm listening to my own music or am on a chat program I always have all the sounds on in gw, including the music

Sound effects actually help you focus better on what's going in the field. But then again it rarely matters in PvE anyway. I guess the music helps me stay awake during certain boring mish so yes it does matter.
